Why we built this
When someone we love is approaching the end of life — or has just left — most people are looking for help for the very first time. Funeral homes, hospice, grief counselors, doulas, estate planners: a tangle of services, jargon, and decisions, all landing during the worst week of your year. The internet is loud about it, mostly in the wrong way.
DOYA exists to be the opposite. Quiet, useful, and made by people who have walked through it.
What's inside
- The Directory — Vetted listings for funeral homes, hospice providers, grief counselors, end-of-life doulas, and estate planners, organized by location and specialty.
- Resources — Short, plainspoken articles on planning, paperwork, rituals, and grief. Written and reviewed by professionals.
- Community — Save what helps, share what comforted you, and read stories from others.
- Shop — A small, curated selection of memorial goods — candles, incense, journals — fulfilled in the US.
How professionals get listed
We verify license, credentials, and reviews before approving a listing. Professionals can apply through the website. Listings are a paid subscription, but rankings and editorial coverage are not for sale — that line keeps the directory worth using.
How we make money
Two ways, both transparent:
- Subscription listings for professionals who want to be found in the directory.
- Sales from the Shop.
The App is free for families and caregivers, and it will stay free for them. We don't sell user data and we don't run third-party ads.
