Option 1 — Delete in-app (fastest)
- Open the DOYA app.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm. You'll be signed out immediately and your data will be queued for deletion.
Option 2 — Email request
If you can't access the App (for example, you've already uninstalled it), email support@doya.directory from the address attached to your account with the subject line "Delete my DOYA account". We'll verify it's you and confirm by email within 7 days.
What gets deleted
- Your DOYA account record (email, password hash, display name).
- Your saved profile content — favorites, wishlist, cart.
- Reviews and ratings you've posted.
- Crash logs and diagnostic events tied to your account.
What we may retain
Some records are kept for limited periods after deletion because the law requires it or because we need them to defend against fraud and disputes:
- Order & payment records — kept for 7 years for tax compliance. These are linked to your order, not to a live account; we will not use them to market to you.
- Support correspondence — kept for up to 2 years so we can reference past tickets.
- Backups — encrypted backups are overwritten on a rolling 30-day cycle. Your data is fully expunged from backups within 30 days of deletion.
Timeline
Account and profile data are deleted immediately. Reviews are anonymized within 24 hours. Backups are purged within 30 days. The retained categories listed above expire on their own schedules.
Reactivation
Account deletion is final. We can't restore deleted accounts. If you'd like to use DOYA again, you're welcome to sign up with a new account at any time.
